Match Report
Pocklington School Boys-U15A vs  Egglescliffe School
On: Tuesday, 19 Oct 2021
Venue: Away

On a cold, dewy morning at Pocklington, the U15s dug deep to produce a vastly improved second half display against a strong, well-organised Dame Allen's outfit. After a poor first half, by their own admission, Pocklington came right back into the game to show not only Dame Allen's but also themselves that they can play rugby when they want to - some strong running and great support play saw Pocklington make great inroads into the opposing defensive line.

A below-par first half was a result of a lack in confidence and desire to make tackles, something which was spoken about in half time by the players, with them agreeing to put that first half behind them and play rugby the way they all knew they could. This resulted in a complete turnaround in the second half; although it was the exact same players, it was like there were 15 new players on the pitch that were proud to play for each other and the badge on their chest. Despite the result not going our way, there were plenty of positives to take out of the game, as well as the emergence of a clear sign of progression from every member of the squad, boding well for the remaining games both before and after half term.
